Kapoho Beach Lots is a private gated community a few hundred feet south of the Highways 132 and 137 intersection on 137. In order to get in the subdivision you have to go in a gate which is watched by a security guard - no one can get in unless they live there, are invited, or are renting a house - which keeps the neighborhood very quiet.

One resident has turned most of his yard into ponds and raises Ulua (large Jack Trevally fish which are prized among people on the island for their size and good eating) as pets. Every afternoon he goes out and feeds his ulua, sometimes drawing quite a crowd. Many other residents have rainbow fish and large sea turtles in their ponds.

Kapoho Beach Lots is also home to the famous Kapoho Champagne Pond ; the crystal clear geothermally heated tidal pool pictured in "Big Island Revealed" and other noted travel guides.

Kapoho Beach Lots subdivision is adjacent to the Kapoho Vacationland Hawaii  subdivision where you can access the incredible Kapoho Tide Pools which are also known as the Wai'opae Tidepools Marine Life Conservation District.

Kapoho Water Company

Water is supplied to Kapoho Beach Lots community by a private water company named Kapoho Water Company, Inc. (KWC). The company has it's own board of directors, separate from the KBCA board of directors.
 
County water lines end at the gate where the KWC lines begin. KWC is responsible for maintenance, repairs and improvements to the water lines inside the gate. Each property has its own water meter.
